Tools to look out for this winter
Oneida Supercell dust extractor; Harvey Big-Eye Rip Fence System; Xpander Clamp SystemOneida Supercell gets even stronger
Oneida’s revolutionary Supercell dust extractor is a whole-shop dust-collection solution, with the unique ability to move enough air volume (measured in cubic feet per minute, or cfm) to handle your shop’s larger machines and dust ports (up to 5 in.), while producing enough static pressure to pull high cfm through smaller hoses and ports (down to 1 in. dia.) as well, much like a shop vacuum can. The brand-new Supercell Turbo ups the power even further, offering 20% more airflow through 4-in. ports, and twice the flow through smaller hoses. The super-high suction enables Supercell to pull similar cfm through up to 100 ft. of flex hose, meaning you won’t need to set up a pricey, optimized duct system to connect it to every tool in your shop. Better yet, Supercell is a two-stage cyclone system with an internal-pulse filter cleaner designed to keep its HEPA filter flowing freely. Supercell Turbo requires 220-volt power and a 30-amp breaker, and prices start at $3,400. Learn more at Oneida-Air.com.
Ultimate rip fence
While the classic T-square rip fence is a proven workhorse, it can be tricky to adjust to a precise dimension, and tricky to micro-adjust when you miss the mark. Harvey’s new Big-Eye Rip Fence System addresses those shortcomings and much more. Its linear guide system puts the fence on smooth bearings, keeps it parallel to the blade throughout its range, locks at the front and back when you push down the clamping handle, and includes a very precise micro-adjuster. The beautifully engineered system includes a multi-function fence extrusion with high and low positions and a host of other helpful features, and comes in 36-in. and 52-in. sizes. Expanding clamp rack simplifies glue-ups
No matter how well your dry-fit goes, assembly is often stressful once the glue is applied and you start wrestling with clamps. The Xpander Clamp System keeps up to four parallel-jaw clamps upright and evenly spaced on glue-ups of all sizes, from big tabletops to small doors. The Xpander rack for clamps up to 40 in. long is $123, and the model for longer clamps is $190. Go to Woodpeck.com for more information.
